Application Process

Your application will be reviewed on the basis of a balanced picture that includes academic achievement, creative ability, artistic and professional goals, individual achievements, and faculty recommendations.

To apply to the Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Art, please fill out the online application or complete and return the downloadable application. Once the application is submitted, mail all of the required supporting materials. PASCA cannot consider an application until all required materials have been received.

  2. 2. Transcript

    Send an official, sealed copy of your current transcript.

  3. 3. Tuition Deposit

    A refundable tuition deposit is required before the Admissions Committee reviews your application. Students who have not been accepted will have their checks returned as soon as their applications have been reviewed.

    • BFA/BA Semester Abroad and Post-Baccalaureate deposit: $1000.
    • Summer Intensive Institutes deposit: One half of the total tuition.

  4. 4. Portfolio:

    A portfolio is required for all applicants. The Admissions Committee reviews every portfolio individually. Send us at least 10 images of your recent work on a CD-ROM in .jpg format. Please note: portfolio materials will not be returned. Please do not send original artwork.

  5. 5. Recommendations:

    Submit the names and telephone numbers of two recommenders. At least one should come from a current art instructor.

  6. 6. Passport / Visa

    If you do not already posses a valid passport, now is the time to apply. Regular passport applications can take 10 weeks or more to process. Expedited applications can take up to 6 weeks. You must have your passport in order to obtain a French student visa. To begin the process, go to the official State Department passport website.

  7. 7. Insurance

    Students are responsible for their own health, theft, travel, and personal liability insurance. Written proof of international health insurance coverage is required for all students, as is a medical form (which will be provided by PASCA) completed by your personal physician.
