BFA/BA Semester
The curriculum combines that of a Fine Arts major at your home institution with the opportunities provided by international study and a focus on new approaches that characterize Pont-Aven. Course work in Pont-Aven concentrates on: Painting, Drawing, Experimental Works on Paper, Sculpture/Installation/Site work, Conceptual Art, Performance Art, Art History/Contemporary Issues, and French language. All instruction is in English.
The BFA/BA Semester Abroad program welcomes students seeking:- An intense study abroad experience to sharpen conceptual approaches and studio practice
- Awareness of international art practices through study trips and exchanges with PASCA’s international student body and faculty
- Time and space to focus on work in well-equipped studios
- Excellent instruction by faculty from major US and European universities and art colleges
- Average student/faculty ratio of 6 to 1
BFA/BA Semester Abroad students may concentrate in a preferred medium and will be encouraged to explore cross-disciplinary approaches.
The 15-week program includes:- 5 courses, carrying a total of 15 credits
- 13 weeks of focused course and studio work in Pont-Aven
- 2 weeks of travel with faculty to European contemporary art centers
- A group exhibition, with catalog, at Centre International d'Art Contemporain
