Programs Overview

The PASCA difference: Immersive. Dynamic. Transformative.

Thematic, concept-driven and multi-disciplinary: PASCAs dynamic curriculum is designed to integrate your skills, passion and motivation as an artist.

Students sharpen their artistic vision, develop a strong, self-directed studio practice, hone conceptual and technical skills, and heighten their awareness of contemporary international art practices. Also addressed are professional issues such as exhibitions and artists statements, and evolving aesthetic and critical concepts current in the contemporary art world. Courses are designed for 3rd and 4th year students with strong foundation skills and are presented by faculty chosen for their pedagogical experience, active professional careers, and ability to teach in an interactive, immersive environment.

Small classes and fluid boundaries between courses facilitate PASCAs mission as a "teaching lab," where instruction, as well as learning, are creative experiences. All classes are designed to encourage experimentation, and to challenge students to stretch the definitions of media. Cultural Site Seminars are designed to take advantage of exhibitions that expand on the cultural and academic goals of the program.

The average student/faculty ratio is 6/1. Classes are taught in English.

Being able to experiment with video for the first time really helped me understand how to better evoke a different sense of time and narrative in my mono-print series.
