Post-Baccalaureate

A one or two semester residency to strengthen studio practice and mentor artistic potential. The Postbaccalaureate program welcomes students seeking comprehensive preparation for graduate study in art or immersion in studio art after careers or other majors. Postbaccalaureate students may concentrate in a Painting/Drawing, Printmaking and/or Sculpture/Installation.

The 15-week program involves:
  • 13 weeks of focused studio work in Pont-Aven
  • 2 weeks of travel with faculty to European contemporary art centers
  • 1 week group exhibition, with catalog, at Centre International d'Art Contemporain

Professional Development for K-12 Artists/Teachers

Professional development programming for K12 artist-teachers include summer, semester, and year-long opportunities within our Post-Bac program that include credit-bearing undergraduate and graduate-level studio courses at our campus in France as well as online/hybrid courses in cultural studies including art history/criticism in our semester program. K-12 Artist/Teachers seeking professional development may enroll in any courses available during a term and benefit from more directed or independent, mentored study available in addition as well as learning contracts with our faculty and Studio Chair.

Much of our curriculum qualifies for K12 continuing education professional development credit similar to programs like Act 48 in the state of Pennsylvania. Your state may have similar opportunities and we will be happy to help you with the certification paperwork.

Our summer credit comes from Rhode Island School of Design and our semester credit comes from the Pacific Northwest College of Art.
