Summer

Two Advanced Summer Institutes focusing on project-based work are offered at the Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Art.

There are several options for 2009 summer study programs. The Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Art and the American University of Paris offer a joint program for longer summer study. Visit the AUP site for more information and indicate on your application to Pont-Aven your interest in this joint program.

Students interested in Summer Session 1 2009 will apply direclty through PASCA. Classes are small, demanding, and challenge artists to experiment with new conceptual and technical approaches. The programs is 4 weeks in length and offer 3 to 6 credit courses in painting, drawing, experimental works on paper, mixed media/conceptual, photography, art history/criticism, and French language. Transferable credit is offered through the Rhode Island School of Design Summer Programs Office. College students who want to receive transfer credit should check with their home institution before applying.

For Summer Session II, PASCA is hosting Brown University Summer and Continuing Studies Studio Art Program. 3-6 transferable credit hours will be issued through Brown University and students must apply directly through Brown. Visit their program website here to learn more.
